This Forge App Jam session is focused on making life easier for Jira admins and Atlassian professionals. In this episode, we’ll start from scratch with a new app that centralizes configuration insights and common checks into a single, opinionated experience using the jira:adminPage module and UI Kit components like DynamicTable, Link, and more.
While we’re building this with admins in mind, the same pattern can be adapted to safely expose non-sensitive insights to non-admin users too (for example, power users or project leads), as long as that’s acceptable within your company’s governance and data policies.
Inspired by Atlassian Community Champion Nikola Perišić’s posts and the various scripts he’s been sharing, we’ll translate those ideas into a reusable Forge pattern that:
Surfaces key admin data in a filterable DynamicTable, tailored to your instance
Uses Link and other UI Kit components to jump straight from insights to the relevant Jira admin screens, reducing clicks and context switching
Leverages the Jira REST APIs from Forge resolvers to query configuration and workflow details at scale, while keeping everything inside a secure, product‑native app
By the end of the session, you’ll have a working example and a clear pattern for packaging your own admin-focused tools into Forge apps that simplify audits, reviews, and day-to-day Jira administration—while still giving you flexibility to share the right level of visibility with non-admin stakeholders when it makes sense.
