This hands-on workshop shows you how JXL, the spreadsheet power app for Atlassian Jira by Appfire, takes those everyday tasks even further, turning what already works into something faster and even more powerful. Winter is coming for endless bulk edits, but the dragons are on your side.

What you'll get
A firsthand look at how JXL extends the Jira you already use: same data, same projects, more ways to work with them. Hands-on experience turning routine tasks into a matter of minutes with JXL's spreadsheet view. And a personal map connecting the tasks you do every day to the JXL features that make them faster, so you know exactly what to reach for once you're back at your desk.

What you will be working on
JXL turns your Jira issues into a live, editable spreadsheet: bulk edits, cross-project rollups, formulas, reporting, all without leaving Jira Cloud. Divided into small (but powerful) houses, you'll tackle a realistic business challenge twice: first with the Jira tools you already know, then again with JXL added to the mix. You'll leave with a clear, personal answer to "where can JXL make this even easier?" and the confidence to bring that answer straight back to your own team and/or kingdom.

Who will be running the workshop
Paweł Mazur, Senior RevOps Automation Engineer at Appfire. In the Atlassian ecosystem for nearly a decade: he started at Gdańsk-based Spartez (the original minds behind Agile Poker, TFS4JIRA), and since 2021 continues his quest at Appfire, automating operations for the Customer Success and Revenue teams around Jira, Confluence, and the Atlassian Marketplace. Day to day, he builds workflows that take exactly this kind of work off people's hands. It's the same kind of work this workshop is about. Paweł also co-organizes board game nights at the Gdańsk office, so a little house rivalry (and maybe a claim to the Iron Throne of Jira efficiency) during the workshop is no coincidence.

Who this workshop is for
Jira administrators, PMs/PMOs and program managers, team leads, engineering leaders, operations teams (JSM/ITSM, HR, finance), and anyone who exports data from Jira into Excel just to count or report on something. No prior JXL knowledge required (so it's ok, if you know nothing) - everyday work with Jira is enough.

Prerequisites

• Your own laptop (everything runs in the browser).

• Basic familiarity with Jira (creating and editing tickets) is enough; JQL is a bonus, not a requirement. No JXL knowledge needed.
