Do you use Jira Server, Jira Data Center or Jira Cloud?  No matter which type you're using automation can be key.  If you're global admin you are faced with setting up automations in workflows or using scripting.  If you're a project admin you may want to learn more about the options you have that don't require the global admin assistance.
