DevOps Infrastructure and Automation Engineer
Lead Atlassian Admin
I am a career QA Systems Integration and Test Engineer. I am an Architect of many proprietary System Automation Harnesses and API's for Test development in Systems spanning Proprietary, Unix, Windows, and Embedded based Operating Systems. My designs have supported Hardware and Software QA in many Industries; CAD, Workstation, Telecommunications, Fault Tolerant Hardware and Software lock step systems, Video on Demand streaming from Disk and Memory, Set Top Appliances, ans S.a.a.S solutions.
My designs support my core belief that Quality Assurance is about quantifying risk in both Process and Product from Key Performance Indicators. The solutions were designed for and applied by Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Support in varying degrees. The Baseline Deployment Pipeline (BDP) identified below is developed in a "DevOps Tool Kit" that acts as a mediator between the Atlassian Technology Stack and autonomous Development and Operations Technology Stacks for each Product.
Most recently, I have focused on DevOps. It felt like a natural extension of my methodologies for Infrastructures supporting automation, diverse dispatch requirements, and provisioning to dynamic Topology Models. DevOps values for Collaboration between Development and Operations personnel along with the desire to shift left development of Health Monitoring infrastructures fit well with the Customers I have provided services to, and the infrastructures I have built around every Product for identifying and isolating anomaly through both automation and interactive interfaces during System Test.
My Atlassian designs, ...

Jon, a co-author of the Agile Manifesto, is passionate about helping clients succeed in delivering business value through software. He works with (typically distributed) teams to articulate, design, architect, and deliver software that solves challenging business problems. Jon has a significant impact on the projects he works on. Projects routinely see high-quality solutions in less time, and leave the local team mentored on object-oriented and agile techniques, and excited. (Often more valuable than the technical improvements ;-)
Jon also enjoys speaking and evangelizing about being agile at conferences around the world.
Jon has a knack for taking the long view, seeing the big picture—yet knowing the details, and driving business success at every turn. Folks interested in truly establishing a best of breed solution, an enduring sense of quality and process, a desire to deliver business value without the BS, and having fun while doing it, love Jon.
His varied career has spanned jet engine R&D, flight simulators, to being an object-oriented and lightweight process evangelist through the 90s, authoring books with Peter Coad, helping to form TogetherSoft, and his work co-authoring the Agile Manifesto for Software Development in 2001. Colleagues & clients alike credit Jon with much of the stellar success that TogetherSoft enjoyed with the UML modeling/IDE product and with the professional mentor group he formed.
Jon seeks better ways for teams to accomplish their goals from the perspectives of people, process, and technology. Jon likes to help teams build an environment that enables effective practices, solid architecture, agile development, quality-by-design (not accident), and laser-like focus on delivering business value through the strategic use of s/w development.
Specialties: agile development, agile coach, domain modeling, architectural solutions that meet business needs, leading distributed teams, highly varied domain expertise, leadership by example.
Co-author Agile Manifesto. Co-author Java Design.
