A pragmatic approach to 'Going SAFe' by Nelson Jordan and William Rojas, Adaptavist

The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) has established itself as the leading approach for large organizations to adopt agile practices across their enterprise. SAFe adaptions are complex and lengthy as they involve many disciplines and procedures and can impact many areas of an organization. This presentation will offer real world challenges which may bring an organization to consider SAFe and offer pragmatic solutions to these both from a process and a tooling perspective. Sample configurations and customizations will be presented in way of these solutions.

Jira first principals and pointers by Jim Hannon

Jim's presentation includes:

Building your Jira instance when you start your transformation:

  • Establishing cross-organizational day practices for Jira
  • Building dashboards and reporting using Jira portfolio and other key tools
  • Building Lean practices and value steam exercises leveraging Jira
  • Jira best practices for Scrum Masters and Product owners

Jira in Broad's Genomics Platform by Amy Biasella

See how the Genomics Platform (GP) at Broad Institute uses Jira server to help manage high throughput laboratory operations in addition to using Jira for 'typical' software development tracking. Use cases will show how GP uses Jira workflows and add-ons to track operational processes such as asset inventory and maintenance requests, lab process batches, and experiments behind product development.

Meat, vegan, and gluten-free meal options will be available. We will have several food options, so you will not be left hungry, but the main focus is fresh, organic sushi with a smoothie service as well! Also, we will not forget the pizza lovers.

Come enjoy 15-year-old red wine among other exceptional alcohol offerings.
