About this event

Hallo Atlassian Community Mitglied,

wir laden dich zu unserem nächsten Abend-Event ein.

Innovation in distributed organizations: How to be ahead of the curve?

Within the course of the last few months almost all organizations became distributed organizations. Travel restrictions and enforced home office made possible within a short time frame what was seen as unneeded or too far to reach in a decade or more before. Even the most laggard organizations learned the basics to communicate (video, audio, text etc.) and coordinate (plan, track tasks etc.) online. More and more of them learn how to considerably improve (content) collaboration. What was a huge competitive advantage for the most progressive distributed organizations in 2019 – being able to communicate, coordinate and collaborate on a global level – became commodity during 2020.

Now, what’s the next step for the global pioneer organizations? How will they enable innovation in a world, were multi-site scenarios are the norm for teams, where the acceptance for extensive travel between global sites will not come back to previous levels in 2021 and beyond? How to be sustainably innovative in a distributed world?

In this meetup we will cover opportunities, trends and barriers to make distributed innovation possible. We will take a look about how technology will evolve in the coming years, where we should and will make use of technology and where the human factor becomes even more important going forward.

About thing.online

We make a virtual meeting web app utilizing 2D-multiplayer-game like concepts that enables users to freely engage in conversations, to collaborate with each other and assists facilitators with controlling the meeting flow.

Autonomy, enabling constraints and serendipity are key ingredients for effective innovation in collaborative settings in general. Our product enables user autonomy in virtual meetings. It lets participants literally move their video avatar freely across a large virtual meeting space, find and engage other participants in conversations, re-group or leave at their own discretion. Both, ad-hoc conversations and facilitated, well-structured virtual meeting flows can be achieved in a very natural way.
