Launching the Leeds Atlassian Community Meetup

From what I can tell Leeds has never had an Atlassian Community group so I'm excited to announce the very first Atlassian Community Meetup in Leeds. It will be a new hub for professionals who use and love Atlassian tools to come together, share knowledge, and connect over workflows, practices, and tools that power modern teams.

Why Leeds, Why Now

Leeds isn't just another city on the map, it's one of the largest and most vibrant digital hubs in the UK. According to the Leeds Digital Festival, the city boasts over 3,000 digital and tech businesses, employing more than 70,000 people and has strengths in data, DevOps, AI, fintech, and healthtech. Leeds’ tech ecosystem contributes £6.6 billion annually to the local economy (Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership).

Given the scale and diversity of this community and the ubiquity and importance of Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Trello it seems natural that we should have a local meetup to support this community, share tips and stories, and learn from one another.

Who’s behind this?

Hi, I’m Royd Brayshay, founder and Director at NewRedo, an agile software consultancy based here in Leeds. I’ve spent years working alongside developers, product leaders and delivery teams to create impactful digital products. I also help organise Agile Yorkshire, the long-running tech community focused on agile delivery and team collaboration. Helping to grow and connect local tech communities is something I’m passionate about and the Atlassian Community is a natural extension of that mission.

The Atlassian Ecosystem is Evolving, Why Should I Attend?

  • Grow your Atlassian knowledge – Learn best practices, tips, and new features from experienced users.

  • Make meaningful connections – Meet engineers, product managers, team leads, and more from across the city and region.

  • Shape the community – Have a say in what topics we cover, what kind of events we run, and who we invite to speak.

  • Be inspired – Whether you're just getting started or an Atlassian power user, this is a space to grow, share, and support each other.

Call for Speakers

This is the first event and we're on the lookout for future speakers and helpers! If you have a story about how your team uses Jira, an integration hack, or a case study of agile transformation? We'd love to hear from you. Whether it's your first time speaking or you're a seasoned pro, this is a supportive space to share ideas.
