Remember all those Jira tickets you have?  What does it mean when you finally get them all 'done' ?  Where do they go? Now what...? 
This is where Releases come in.  As one enables a team to get work done, so does one enable a team to deliver effort in what's called 'Releases'.  This is a great way to get the teams velocity recognized and used as leverage when thinking about future feature development!
