| 2:15 AM | Visualizing Reporting Across Multiple Teams | Jira is a great tool that unleashes the potential of every team. It is used by any and all teams, and can be bent in many different ways to meet their needs. As teams start to scale, reporting up and down the organization can be difficult. For example, different executives in the C-Suite want to see specific data sets, in a specific way, in simple reports. When will this initiative be done, and what is the current status across all of my initiatives? Product Managers that work in different scaled agile methodologies have a certain set of reports needed, that can help them quickly answer questions. What is the velocity across all of my teams? What are my cross-team dependencies, and which team(s) will be working on specific features in specific versions? This is where custom reporting that is designed to visualize the data of multiple teams becomes critical. In this talk, Evan Golden, Senior Solutions Engineer at Smartdraw Software, will talk about reporting for organizations building products with multiple teams at scale. The presentation will include real-world problems, and how they were solved with different custom reports using the Visualscript product.
SPEAKER BIO: Evan Golden is a Senior Solutions Engineer at Smartdraw Software. His experience is widely ranged in many areas of technology. Evan has been a member of, managed, and led large and small system and software engineering teams, technical consulting teams, network engineering teams, and agile product development teams. He has over 10 years of experience in application administration, engineering, consulting, coaching, and integration using the Atlassian stack. Evan has worked with organizations of all size, from startups to Fortune 500. Evan is currently the lead Solutions Engineer working on the VisualScript for Jira and VisualScript for Confluence products. He specializes in Jira Core, Jira Software, Jira Service Desk, Jira Portfolio, Trello and Confluence configuration, administration, and best practices. He is also training, and has provided coaching to teams in using agile Scrum to build products, and manage projects. Evan holds five Atlassian certifications, two Atlassian badges, is a Certified Atlassian Master, is a Certified Scrum Master, and a Certified Scrum Product Owner. |

In this talk, you’ll hear the story of how Netflix deployed Jira Data Center and how it transformed their conventional view of deployments. Downtime and weekend upgrades were replaced by zero-downtime weekday upgrades that were fully embraced (and, rumor has it, sparked a little joy).
