About this event

The narrative:

- AI, Economic headwinds, and hybrid work. All words heard way too much in 2023, that will NOT feature in this amazing Atlassian Community Event.

Instead, we'll talk about the real dynamics of being a thriving leader in any business right now, and we've got an amazing line up of content to fill your February Goody Bags with.

Come hang out to learn from our speakers on Effective Communications that Matter, The Future of Work, and Forming Thriving Distributed Teams, and from the hundreds of community members who'll be there to share their stories.

Dr Ben Hamer - A Postcard From the Future
Dr Ben is an author, advisor, public speaker and provocateur on all things around the future of work. Ben will bring a wealth of different research to our session, and thankfully he'll do the hard work before hand to dissent the news from the BS, and the action from the ignore. Ben has experiencing spanning large consulting, the government, and likes to hang out with World Economic Forum in his spare time. His content is edgy and will make you think. He'll also equip you with some pragmatic ideas that you can take back to your work to become an even better leader. Ben is a dynamic and much sought after speaker, so this is a session NOT to miss.
7:30 AM
Louise Devine (nee Halloran); Story Telling & Compelling Communications
It sometimes feels like Louise was born a natural communicator, with an eye for crafting a compelling narrative and helping people change their behaviours. A 6 year veteran at Atlassian, Louise has had a multitude of roles across Communications and PR, and now runs the team who looks after comm's for our Founders, Scott & Mike. In the age of distributed work, multiple generations in the workplace and a plethora of media to choose from, Louise will share some stories with us about creating communications that cut through the BS. She'll help us understand how to craft and build a compelling narrative, different tools that she experiments with to reach her audience, and making your stories consumable. This isn't theory. This is real life practices on how you can communicate better as a leader.
8:00 AM
Mark Cruth & Sven Peters; Modern Work Designers on forming awesome teams
We're flying in Mark from the US and Sven from Germany, to share some of their stories of forming awesome teams. Mark and Sven spend their time working with teams of all shapes and sizes, both within Atlassian, but almost more importantly, they spend 50% of their time helping our customers teams unleash their potential. They'll take us through an exercise that will make us think, and equip us all with some simple techniques to set up our teams for success. It's not rocket science, but research tells us it's not something we're currently doing that well. They'll bring examples from 100's of enterprises for these tried and tested techniques.
