In this special edition of Forge Dev Den, we will feature five teams of university students who will share their journeys in getting started with Forge and walk us through on how they built their first AI-powered Forge applications to address real-world use cases. Forge Dev Den is a series of ACE Atlassian Developers events that showcase the capabilities of the Forge platform.

At this event, students from the University of New South Wales will showcase their experiences in developing their first Forge apps. Each group will present the app they created as part of their capstone project, with each app utilizing AI to enhance Confluence's capabilities for specific use cases.
The apps integrate with a range of large language models (LLMs) like OpenAI and Gemini through their APIs. You can access these APIs from Forge using the Forge Fetch API with bearer token authentication, along with its External authentication capabilities for APIs that need OAuth 2.0 tokens. Within Confluence, you can trigger the apps from the Confluence content action or the context menu and create advanced Macros to provide additional value to the end users.
Here's what you can expect to see:
An “Automatic Quiz Generator” app that creates quizzes based on content from a Confluence site.
An “Audio Summarizer” app that transforms Confluence pages into concise audio summaries for easy listening.
A “Flashcard Collector” app that allows you to save and quickly retrieve snippets of content that are relevant to you.
Join us and discover the capabilities of Forge as we showcase the amazing achievements of these students, who accomplished so much in a short period of time.
This session will be recorded and shared on our Atlassian Developer YouTube channel following the event.
