About this event

AaaC - Atlassian as Code session

Are you looking to improve your Atlassian deployments/upgrades?

Join us at the upcoming AaaC (Atlassian as Code) Event for a 1-hour session where we'll guide you through the automatic Atlassian Data Center deployment on Kubernetes. Our goal is to remove manual work, minimise human errors, reduce deployment times from hours to literally minutes or even seconds, and improve zero-downtime upgrades.

Why should your company move Atlassian tools like Jira to Kubernetes?

Companies are increasingly adopting Kubernetes for its scalability, flexibility, and resilience. By moving monolithic applications to containerised architecture and deploying Jira on Kubernetes, you can:

  • Achieve Greater Scalability: Automatically scale your Jira instances up or down based on demand, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Enhance Resilience: Kubernetes provides self-healing capabilities, reducing downtime and ensuring your Atlassian tools are always available.
  • Improve Resource Efficiency: Efficiently manage resources and reduce costs by utilising Kubernetes' container orchestration.
  • Simplify Management: Centralise and streamline the management of your Jira deployments across different environments.
  • Facilitate DevOps Practices: Seamlessly integrate Jira into your DevOps pipeline, enhancing collaboration and speeding up development cycles.

Event Breakdown:

1st Part: Live Demo

I'll do a 15 minutes live demo on how to deploy Atlassian Data Center on Kubernetes, using Terraform, Helm, and Bitbucket pipelines in AWS. We'll also share code examples for GCP, Azure, and Hetzner. This session is perfect for both beginners and experienced users, offering clear, step-by-step instructions to ensure a smooth and efficient setup. And don’t worry, there won’t be any “turn it off and on again” nonsense here (a typical troubleshooting joke).

2nd Part: Cleaning a 20-Year-Old Jira Instance with 2 Million Tickets

We are thrilled to have Ariel Prado from the Atlassian Experts event join us. Ariel will share invaluable tips on how to clean a 20-year-old Jira instance with up to 2 million tickets. Now, that’s a ticket clean-up even Saint Patrick would be proud of! (Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, known for driving the snakes out of Ireland). This exclusive presentation promises to deliver valuable insights and spark engaging discussions.
