About this event

UPDATE: Snacks and beverages for this meeting provided by Extra Thyme Catering.

We'll have small sandwiches, nuts, cookies, brownies, hummus and more.  Remember post-meeting there is a sponsored gathering at Dave & Buster's across the street (close enough to walk, but feel free to drive there)

This is our First 'Longform' Meeting

This meeting is another St. Louis AUG milestone: our first 'longform' meeting (it's quite a bit longer than a typical meeting).  Though much shorter than a conference, it contains conference-like content given it includes a couple of workshop modules and a presentation on Dev Ops, a great opportunity for individuals and organizations interesting in learning more about this topic.  That's followed by a presentation by Atlassian customer WalkMe on their unique product which can be applied to Atlassian products and more. Their presentation will include a demo of their product applied to JIRA.

Here's a more detailed description of the DevOps session:

This event will bring people together from many disciplines to discuss new ways to make and support software. You will gain a deeper understanding of DevOps and the many different ways people understand, approach and practice DevOps.

The DevOps Bootstrap Workshop will involve a ton of attendee participation. So fasten your seat belts – this ain't no spectator sport! Here's a few things you'll walk away with:

  • Best practices on how to scale DevOps
  • Different ways to approach and practice DevOps
  • Plays or exercises you can bring back your organization

RSVP Now

RSVP and block your calendars NOW for this afternoon meeting (and use the time between now and then to get your manager's permission to attend this FREE, Atlassian-run session and the customer presentation delivered by WalkMe).

The doors at Charter's spacious meeting rooms on the 5th floor of their Riverport facility will open at 1:30pm for checking in and networking, with the event officially beginning at 2pm, and running to approximately 5:45pm, followed by an optional gathering at Dave & Buster's right across the street. D&B's is an ideal place to bide your time while rush-hour traffic occurs nearby on I-270 and I-70.

See meeting details in the agenda below!

IMPORTANT NOTE:

While the topics covered and explored in the DevOps presentation can be widely applicable - can assist you even if you are not into DevOps - we recognize not everyone is a good fit for that topic but may be interested in the customer presentation later in the afternoon.

IF you are only interested in the WalkMe session (again, WalkMe is an Atlassian customer with an Atlassian-applicable learning solution) please email me at tom.crespi@atlassianusergroup.com and let me know that your RSVP is only for the latter session (and hopefully you'll join us at D&B's afterwards too).

As you can imagine, this is more involved than our typical meeting to arrange so having this information will help us a great deal in our planning.   Thanks in advance!

Free This and That

Our AUG meetings are always free. No membership fees, no meeting fees, free food and beverages and swag.  All that and quality content is a can't miss combination.

Atlassian and Expium will be sponsoring the food and beverages offered during the event and WalkMe has offered to sponsor the Dave & Buster's after-meeting piece. (To our other always-supportive solution partners, there could be additional sponsor opportunities for this event, let me know if interested!).

More about The Food and Beverages

During the meeting at Charter, we will depart from our usual pizza and beverages formula - given its post-lunch and pre-dinner timing -  and offer a mix of salty (nuts, chips) and sweet (cookies, brownies) snacks to keep you energized, and a selection of soft drinks and bottled water to keep you hydrated.  If we have more details on this important topic of food and beverages offered during the meeting, we will update this section, so watch it!   (Ideas welcomed on other food and non-alcoholic beverages to offer)

After the meeting, those interested in more networking and perhaps to avoid sitting in traffic during rush hour can join us at Dave & Buster's across the street.  We will offer additional food and beverages there, alcoholic beverages included so you shouldn't go away hungry or thirsty. You will receive a ticket at the AUG event that will get you into our D&B event.

All this and you should still get home well before you would for our typical AUG event 6-8pm meetings (that sometimes run to 9pm or more with the after-meeting networking).
